RC Group D Exam Pattern

  • There are four sections in the RRB Group D exam for Tier 1.
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning carries the maximum weightage of 30 marks.
  • Further, there is another section called General Science with 25 marks weightage.
  • Thus, there will be 55 questions from Maths & Reasoning topic and 45 questions from General Science, GK & Current Affairs topic.
  • The duration of the test is 90 minutes i.e., 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

a) Mathematics:

For Maths section of any exams by the RRB, it is important to have a clear and thorough understanding of the basic concepts like:

Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.

b) General Intelligence and reasoning:

d) General Awareness and Current Affairs:

3.RRB Group D Exam Pattern for PET

As per the RRB Group D Cut-off marks in the CBT, shortlisted candidates will be called to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

The PET is qualifying in nature and it is mandatory to qualify the RRB Group D PET for being considered for the next stage of the selection process. The RRB Group D selection criteria for the 2nd stage involves the following criteria for male and female candidates:

SSC GD Constable Physical Efficiency Test- TIER 2

The candidates who clear the PST will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This examines the endurance and fitness level of the male and female candidates through a race.

The details of the SSC GD PET are as follows.

  • Pregnant women are disqualified from taking the SSC GD PET.
  • Ex-servicemen are exempted from taking the PET.
  • However, the Ex-servicemen have to appear for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

Race:

  1. Male – 5 Kms in 24 minutes
  2. Female – 1.6 Kms in 8 ½ minutes

For candidates of Ladakh Region:

  1. Male – 1 Mile in 6 ½ minutes
  2. Female – 800 metres in 4 minutes

 

SSC GD Constable Physical Standards Test- TIER 3

The candidates who are looking forward to the SSC GD Constable recruitment have to make sure that they meet the required measurements for the Physical Standards Test.

NEGATIVE MARKING:

The following are the important features of the UPSC Mains General Studies Paper-IV – Structure/ General Studies IV paper:

  1. The paper consists of twelve questions with these divided into two sections. Before 2018, there were fourteen questions, though now the complexity has been increased and the number of questions has been reduced.
  2. All the questions are compulsory.
  3. The questions are of 10 marks and 20 marks depending on the length of the answer required. The 10 marks questions need answers within 150 words while the 20 marks questions need answers within 250 words.
  4. The total marks allotted to this paper are 250 marks.
  5. The questions are of two types:
    • Direct concept related questions which test the candidate’s understanding of ethical issues and concepts related to integrity and aptitude (125 marks)
    • Case studies which test the candidate’s application of those concepts to situations involving the candidate and other stakeholders such as politicians, pressure groups, the public and other people (125 marks)
  6. This paper is the most variable of the four General Studies Papers and the nature of questions differ widely from year to year. Candidates should familiarise themselves with the syllabus, and the last few year’s patterns as well.

  • UPSC does not want thinkers’ point of view but what it looks for is how much the candidate has analysed, utilized and applied it to the current context.
Attitude Candidates should focus on Attitude:

  • Content, structure, function, its influence and relation with thought and behaviour for Part 2 of the question paper i.e., Case Study
  • The moral and political attitudes; social influence and persuasion would be for Part 1 of the Ethics Question Paper i.e., theory.

UPSC Mains General Studies Paper-III 2021 is one of the nine subjective papers of UPSC Mains. Trends of UPSC Main Examinations in the recent past make it clear that it has become very dynamic, and hence, the old traditional method of preparation does not suffice.

UPSC Mains General Studies Paper-II

UPSC Mains General Studies Paper-II (the second stage of the selection process) has 9 examinations in total followed by a personality test in the end.

The tentative date is September 17-22, 2021 and the Prelims will be conducted on June 27, 2021. General Studies Paper-II is a mandatory paper for appearing candidates. This paper is completely based on Polity, Governance, and International Relations which makes it a scoring paper.
