UPSC Principal Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The recruitment process consists of three stages- Preliminary Exam, Main exam and Personal Interview.

UPSC Principal Selection Process

The sectional process for the UPSC Principal examination is conducted in three phases which are given below:

  • Prelims (Objective Type)
  • Mains (Written Test)
  • Interview

Age Limit:

  • Not exceeding 50 years for General and EWS candidates as on normal closing date.
  • Not exceeding 55 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them.
  • Not exceeding 53 Years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them.

Desirable Education Qualification:

Holding Doctorate Degree from a Recognized University / Institute. Experience of Administrative charge of a Recognized High School / Higher Secondary School / Intermediate College.
