TNTET Syllabus 2021 – Download Pdf Now

TNTET stands for Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test. The Teachers Recruitment Board releases the TNTET Syllabus every year. As per the recent announcement made by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishak, the TNTET certificate will be valid for the lifetime.

Required Marks Category Wise for Qualifying TNTET 2021:

  1. General Category- 60% (90 Marks)
  2. SC/ST/OBC- 55% (83 Marks)

The exam consists of 2 papers:

  1. Paper-I (for classes I – V)
  2. Paper-II (for classes VI-VIII)

Paper 1 and Paper 2 have a separate syllabus and are released accordingly. Two papers include different topics which are very helpful to examine the knowledge of the applications on respective topics. Aspirants who will be appearing for the teacher eligibility test must thorough understanding of the basics of every topic.

TNTET 2020 Paper 1

It is conducted for aspirants who wish to become primary teacher (classes 1 – 5) in various central government-aided schools in the state of Tamil Nadu.

A Brief Introduction of TNTET Paper I Sections:

  1. Child Development and Pedagogywill focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group 6 – 11 years.
  2. The language Iwill focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction. Candidate has to choose any one of the languages (Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu). For the recruitment process, candidates shall be considered for the vacancies in the concerned medium only.
  3. Language II – ENGLISHwill focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  4. Mathematics and Environmental Studieswill focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.

TNTET 2020 Paper 2

It is conducted for candidates who wish to seek employment in the elementary classes of schools in Tamil Nadu. This paper consists of 4 compulsory sections. They will have an option in the fourth section which candidates should opt as per the subject they wish to teach.

A Brief Introduction of TNTET Paper II Sections:
