Combined Civil Services -I Examination (Group-I) Examination 2021 is conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). TNPSC is a constitutional body that helps the state government in matters related to the recruitment, transfers and disciplinary actions.

The Combined Civil Services Examination I which is arranged by the TNPSC acts as the gateway for Group 1 Services in Tamil Nadu.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam is taken in three stages.

The Combined Civil Services Examination I is taken by TNPSC to appoint candidates for Group 1 vacancies in the Tamil Nadu state administration. Three stages of TNPSC exam include:

1st Stage: Prelims, 1 paper (objective type) for 300 marks

2nd Stage: Mains, 3 papers (descriptive) for a total of 750 marks

3rd Stage: Interview- 100 marks

The initial stage of the TNPSC Group 1 exam is the Prelims, which acts as a screening test and the qualifying candidates will be allowed to appear for the Mains.

TNPSC Group 1 Mains Exam Pattern

You will get 3 hours to solve each paper. Each paper has descriptive questions. The number of questions varies in each chapter and tests the candidate’s knowledge across several domains.

Mains is a descriptive examination; the right answers will be marked subjectively by the examiners. Candidates are advised to prepare for these papers thoroughly as they are based on conceptual questions.
