ICAR NET Syllabus | ASRB NET Syllabus Pdf 2021

ASRB ICAR NET stands for Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board Indian Council conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research National Eligibility Test.

It is a national level exam scheduled to be held from 21 to 27 June 2021 in Online computer-based mode at 32 Centres across India. It is conducted for the recruitment of candidates as lecturers/assistant professors in State Agricultural and other agricultural universities.

A Master’s Degree in the discipline that a candidate wishes to teach is mandatory to be eligible for this examination.

ICAR ASRB NET 2021- Exam Pattern

1. ASRB ICAR NET – Preliminary

Before taking the exam, the candidates must be thoroughly aware about the exam pattern which is mentioned below:

  • Mode of Examination- The ASRB is conducting the NET 2020 exam via the online mode. Therefore, it will be a computer-based test.
  • Duration of the Exam- The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
  • Type of questions- The question type would be objective or multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
  • Language of the Exam- The questions are asked in both Hindi and English; therefore, it is a bilingual examination.
  • Number of questions- There are a total of 150 questions asked in the exam.
  • Number of marks- The total marks of the examination tally up to 150.
  • Standard of the test- The standard of the test is pertaining to the level of the master’s degree in their relevant field/discipline.
  • Marks for the correct answer- Each question carries 1 mark and so for the correct answer, 1 mark would be awarded.
  • Marks for the incorrect answer- There is a negative marking for every incorrect answer. 1/3 marks would be deducted for the same.

2. ASRB ICAR NET – Mains

The Mains paper will be of 240 marks in their relevant areas which need to be attempted within a time constraint of 3 hours. The paper shall be divided into 3 parts A, B and C.

The syllabus for the ICAR NET exam is prescribed by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB).

Viva Voce

The candidates who clear the ASRB NET mains examination and score the required cut off to clear the exam are them called to appear for the Viva Voce. The candidates who appear for the Viva voce are chosen on the basis of the results of the ARS Mains Exam.

  • The Viva-voce is conducted by a group of experts in the fields. It is worth 60 marks.
  • The main aim of the viva voce is to assess the candidate’s suitability for the service.
  • It is a very natural and directed purposeful conversation.
  • The candidates are tested on various factors which include their curiosity, social skills, practical knowledge, critical thinking, decision making, and other factors which will make them eligible for the further process.
